Puff Sleeve Dresses

It’s January in Austin and that means the weather is on an oscillating kick—swinging from warm, mild temps to chilly, winter digits, and then back to warm again. We can be wearing layers and sweaters one week and the next we're wearing dresses!

Prior to the holidays, I typically go for more fall-like clothing on our milder days. But, once the holidays are over, I wear spring clothing when it's warm. 'Cause let's face it, we're all ready for spring!

Last week, we had a high-70's day and I wore this gorgeous blue puff-sleeve midi dress. Puff-sleeve dresses are really trendy right now, but it can sometimes be a little tricky to find a cute one. The reason for that is this style can easily look a little prairie or pioneer like, so it's important to choose a dress that isn't too long and to style the outfit appropriately. I personally wouldn't go longer than a midi-length dress and pairing the dress with sneakers is always a great way to make it look fashionable.

I paired my dress with white Keds, but if I was wearing a shorter dress I'd probably opt for more platform-like sneakers, like my Nike Air Force 1's.

The dress that I'm wearing is from Urban Outfitters. It was one of my Christmas gifts, but unfortunately it's now sold out. Not to worry though because I found some really cute alternatives from a few different brands to save you the time of searching. I would buy these for myself if I didn't have this UO dress!
